At 1:19 in the afternoon Ambulance 3-19-1 was dispatched to the Silver Hill Quarry for an injured person. After arriving onscene it was determined that the pt was on top of a large rock ledge and assistance would be needed. The ambulance crew requested that the Fire Department be dispatched for the stokes basket. The stokes basket is as invaluable device carried by the fire companies to be used with getting people out of tight spots and high elevations. Station 3-3 (Bowmansville) was dispatched to assist. Deputy 3-3 (Good) arrived onscene and set up command. He determined that additional resources would be needed and requested Rescue and Truck 3-9 (New Holland) to assist. After arrival of the 3-9 units the pt was secured to the stokes basket and lowered by Truck 3-9 to the ground. Pt was transferred to a helicopter to be taken quickly to a local hospital.
