On Wednesday,
April 30, 2008 at 08:50 hours, Lancaster County Wide
Communications received a 911 call for a vehicle accident in
front of 684 Lancaster Avenue in East Earl Township.
Fivepointville Ambulance 3-19-1 and Fire Station 3-10
(Martindale) were dispatched to a single vehicle accident
involving a pickup truck. The caller reported that several
utility poles had been taken out and that the patient was still
in the vehicle. Ambulance 3-19-1 responded in less than 1
minute. Rescue 3-9 (New Holland) was added to the call for
extraction. East Earl Police Dept (79) and New Holland
(84) were on the call as well.
Fivepointville Ambulance members first responded to the scene
and began emergency treatment of the driver of the vehicle prior
to arrival of Ambulance 3-19-1. Martindale Fire Company used
their rescue equipment to remove the driver side door before
Rescue 3-9 arrived. The driver of the vehicle was removed from
the vehicle by EMS 3-19 with assistance from Fire 3-10
personnel. The patient was transported to a local hospital
for further evaluation and treatment.
