August 16 2009

August 16 proved to be a busy day for the members of Fivepointville Ambulance. The day started at 5:17 am with a sick person call for Ambulance 3-19-1. While the crew was returning from the hospital, Ambulance 3-9-1 (New Holland), Station 3-12 (Terre Hill), and Medic 9 (Ephrata) were dispatched to 625 in the Area of Center Church in East Earl Twp. for an auto accident with reported entrapment. Ambulance 3-19-1 made the response but had Ambulance 3-9-1 continue in as they were closer.  Thankfully no one was seriously hurt and all units went available shortly. At 8:43am Ambulance 3-19-1 was dispatched to the intersection of Centerville Rd and Sensenig Road for a bicycle accident. Chief 3-12 (Weaver) was onscene and advised that the patient had succumbed to their injuries prior to the ambulance arriving. While 3-19-1 was onscene of this accident Ambulance 3-9-1 was dispatched to White Oak road and Martindale Road for another Bicycle accident at 9:16 am. At 10:00 am Ambulance 1-7 (Reamstown) was dispatched along with Ambulance 3-19-2 for a third bicycle accident at Frysville Road and Napierville Road. It was reported that two bicycles had crashed and two were injured. Ambulance 1-7 and Ambulance 3-19-2 arrived and provided patient care to all injured patients. After the third accident it was determined that a bicycle ride was being held in the county that involved several thousand riders that went through our response area. Thank you to all the mutual aid that assisted us with the busy morning. The day ended with six calls with Ambulance 3-19-1 being sent out at 8:11 pm for a sick person
